1955 Gibson Country Western SJ-N with LR Baggs Venue and Hard Case
This is a real one.
A 1955 Gibson Country Western SJ-N from the heart of Gibson’s golden era—the period everyone is chasing for good reason. This guitar came to me out of Arizona and has clearly lived a life of music. It’s a player through and through, and it sounds absolutely phenomenal.
Big, open, and boomy with that unmistakable Gibson jangle, this SJ-N has an effortless feel under the hands. It’s incredibly easy to play and perfectly suited for a singer-songwriter who wants a guitar that supports the voice rather than competes with it. Dry, woody, responsive, and alive—this is the kind of guitar that makes you want to write songs instead of talk about specs.
Condition & Details
All-original finish
No neck crack
Possible original frets (show wear and would benefit from a fret dress)
Non-original bridge pins
LR Baggs Venue pickup installed
Two top cracks:
One on the lower bout under the arm
One on the lower bout near the pickguard
(both visible in the photos)
This guitar has honest wear, real history, and decades of music still ahead of it. If you’ve been waiting for a true vintage Gibson Country Western with tone for days and feel for miles, this one checks the boxes.
An absolute icon—and one that won’t be around long.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
